The Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) 2024 showcased the enduring partnership between Bahrain and the United States alongside a display of advanced military capabilities. The November 2024 event, hosted at the Bahrain International Circuit, attracted global interest and participation from 59 nations.
The airshow featured U.S. military aircraft, including the B-52H Stratofortress, which made its debut at BIAS. “Our military relationship with the Bahrain Defense Force spans decades, a testament to our enduring commitment and shared resolve,” said Lt. Gen. Derek France, commander of Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central).
The event opened with a flyover by two B-52s, the first time the aircraft have participated in the event. The U.S. also showcased other aircraft such as the C-130J Hercules, A-10C Thunderbolt II, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the U.S. Navy MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter, highlighting the U.S. military’s wide range of capabilities.
The three-day event included static aircraft displays, allowing visitors to get an up close look at some of the most advanced military aircraft in the world. These displays provided a tangible demonstration of the technological advancements and operational capabilities of the U.S. military.
France, the Ninth Air Force commander, met with senior leaders from partner air forces, reinforcing the collaborative efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region. “Security threats have become increasingly complex, making this partnership more crucial than ever,” France said.
The airshow reported $1.85 billion in sales, reflecting significant interest and investment in the aerospace sector. More than 46,000 visitors attended the event.
